McBrayer is proud to congratulate attorney and 7th District Councilmember Preston C. Worley on receiving the Outstanding Young Lawyer award from the Fayette County Bar Association (FCBA). This award honors a member of the FCBA who has practiced in Fayette County less than 10 years and who has both admirably fulfilled his duties as an attorney and shown dedication to the improvement of the community.
Not only is Preston a valued member of our firm, but he was an early leader of the University of Kentucky’s DanceBlue Dance Marathon, an annual, year-long fundraiser that culminates in a 24-hour dance marathon. He continues to serve as the Chairman of the Golden Matrix Fund, which uses the money raised through the DanceBlue event to support the children of Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, as well as research done at the Markey Cancer Center. Preston works to alleviate the emotional and financial difficulties for families suffering from the effects of pediatric cancer.
Preston was also recently appointed as an LFUCG Urban County Councilmember by Mayor Jim Gray, where he continues to pursue his passion for community enhancement in a formal capacity. He is a member of the Coaches for the Kids, Inc. He previously served as General Counsel for the Lexington History Museum and is currently a member of the Coaches for Kids, Inc. Board and the University of Kentucky's Children's Hospital Executive Development Council.
The FCBA presented this award to Preston as part of Law Day. Law Day is an annual day of celebration of the role of law in the United States and society as a whole, held annually on May 1st.
